Description
Pioneer SE-505 headphones. Classic Vintage. Stand and leather box included in the price.
In 1937 Nozomu Matsumoto created the first magnetoelectric speaker in Japan, and a year later, he registered in Tokyo the company with the name Fukuin Shokai Denki Seisakusho. In 1961, the company’s name was changed to Pioneer Electronic Corporation. However, the breakthrough came in 1962, when the company entered the Tokyo Stock Exchange and created the world’s first stereo system with speakers in separate housings. Four years later, Pioneer opened branches in the USA and in Europe. In 1978, the company created one of the best-known and most powerful receivers in its history SX-1980. Pioneer can also be proud of great successes in the world of auto-moto, as it introduced in 1975 the world’s first automotive stereo subassembly, then in 1984 a CD player and GPS navigation in 1990. The company also played a major role in the development of DVDs, plasma TVs and Organic LED display technologies (OLED). The company is currently a part of Pioneer & Onkyo Corporation.
SE-505 is the top model in the SE series produced by Pioneer in the 70s. The headphones are equipped with dynamic, large (70 mm) speakers ensuring full reproduction of the constantly present dynamic bass, which beautifully integrates with open “midrange” and subdued and precise pitches. Thanks to their design, the headphones effectively reduce external sounds and work well as studio monitors. This model is also equipped with volume and tone control potentiometers – separately for each channel. Another noticeable feature is the elegant and modernist design of this model. The outer part of the ear pad is covered with soft eco leather as are the hand-trimmed pads and sponge on the headband.
Old pads have been replaced with properly selected substitutes made of eco leather, which were moisturized and protected with a balm based on lanolin, aloe, beeswax and Carnauba wax.
Specially designed and hand-made solid headphone stands included. The material is plywood, varnished using the automotive wet painting technique, which gives the stands a beautiful look and makes them very pleasant to the touch. Felt pads have been affixed to the base to prevent furniture scratches.
Collector’s headphones. In perfect condition!
