Description
Hitachi HS-20F loudspeakers. HiFi Stereo. Fully revitalized.
Hitachi was founded in 1910 by electrical engineer Namihei Odair. He created the company’s toponymic name by superimposing two kanji characters: hi for “sun” and tachi for “rise”. The company’s product was the Japan’s first 4 kVat induction motor, initially developed for use in mining. In 1918, Odaira moved Hitachi headquarters to Tokyo. Thanks to the takeover of other companies, during the interwar period, Hitachi became the largest manufacturer of mechanical equipment in the country. With the late 1950s and early 1960s boom in the Japanese economy, Hitachi began to shift from industrial machinery to consumer goods such as household appliances, air conditioners and transistor radios. In 1958, the company created a six-transistor miniature portable radio, and 11 years later it launched a transistor colour television and a two-way speaker system. By 1993, Hitachi had opened 38 research laboratories and was one of the leading recipients of US patents granted since 1963. The company has become ubiquitous in every product category, from high-speed computerized train control systems and nuclear reactors to fiber-optic data transmission equipment and digital cameras.
Hitachi HS-20F are high-quality loudspeakers produced in the 80s with an original and at the same time characteristic for its era design. This model is also distinguished by a very wide music scene and extremely selective sound. It was sold with the Midi Hi-Fi-System MD 5.
