Goodmans Mezzo SL loudspeakers. Classic Vintage. Fully revitalized.
Goodmans is a consumer electronics producer, famous to this day for its “British audio legacy”. The company was founded in London in 1925 starting as a producer of loudspeakers for PA systems. The production and engineering departments were initially located in Wembley, later in Havant, Hampshire. In the 60s, Goodmans widened its product range introducing amplifiers, and launching Maxamp 30, the first solid-state amplifier produced in the UK. At the time, the company employed around 650 people. In the 70s and 80s Goodmans continued to develop its products, i.e. speakers, amplifiers, tuners and receivers. From the late 80s it expanded its production to the so called consumer electronics, including car audio systems, CD players, digital TV, as well as Freeview and Freesat receivers and recorders of digital TV.
In 1986 Goodmans merged with speakers producer Tannoy to form TGI (Tannoy Goodmans International).
The Mezzo SL are classic, 2-way speakers from Goodmans produced in the mid-70s. They are distinguished by high efficiency and excellent acoustic qualities. Their spatial sound and genuine reproduction of music make it very popular with hi-fi connoisseurs. Stable structure and simple elegant design form a unified whole.
The enclosures have been completely revitalized. Exotic Acajou wood adds incredible charm to the speakers. High quality finishing screws. Grilles made from new acoustic fabric. Practical, leather handles enable smooth removal and mounting of the grilles. The wood finishing is Chinese oil produced from natural oils and natural turpentine-based beeswax. The wood is pleasant to the touch. The set has been fully reviewed and serviced. New terminals.
Included are two speaker cables with a cross-section of 2×2,5 mm and length of 2×5 m
